Equipment

Atherton provides world-class, high-quality steriliser and washer solutions for the needs of dental facilities.

The standard for validation of steam sterilisation processes EN ISO 17665-1 requires monitoring of steam penetration inside of hollow instruments with each cycle. Therefore, the gke Dental-BMS can be used if hand pieces and saliva ejectors are the most difficult instruments to be sterilised.

The gke Dental-BMS consists of a process challenge device (PCD) and an indicator strip. The PCD can be used for an unlimited number of cycles. The durable material ensures reproducible results. It is not calibrated to the requirements of a steriliser standard but to the requirements for a typical packaged dental load.

Automatic cleaning processes are carried out in washer-disinfectors. The cleaning process has to be adjusted to the load and the soils. Program (temperature and time gradient), detergent etc. have to be considered. In order to prove the efficiency of the cleaning process a validation shall be carried out.

The gke Clean-Record® testing system consists of cleaning indicators, i.e. synthetically produced test soils, which have to be added to the cleaning process. This new technology enables us to offer cleaning indicators with different wash-off difficulty levels for the first time. Hence gke is able to provide you with an indicator which is suitable for monitoring your validated cleaning process.

Cleaning indicators allow the release of each batch and must be placed and evaluated with each cycle, guaranteeing any changes of the validated process will be detected immediately. This indicator is ideal for monitoring the performance of the underbench washer found in any dental clinic.
