Who are SMS

We are New Zealand's specialist in steriliser equipment. We supply, service and validate all sizes and types of sterilisers, from small bench-top to large pre-vacuum sterilisers.

SMS was established in 2004. Our head office is in Christchurch, with regional technicians based in Auckland and Dunedin. We are ISO9001 certiﬁed, which means we are able to provide a quality assured service and link with your own quality improvement program.

What we do

Steriliser service

We carry out programmed and on-call service on any type of steriliser designed for medical or laboratory application.

Steriliser validation.

We carry out performance qualiﬁcations to give you the comfort that your steriliser meets standards of quality assurance (such as AS/NZS4187) or those required by law.

Steriliser support

We provide advice on steriliser needs based on where your business is heading. We also provide in-services and education sessions on safe steriliser use at any time you require them.

Steriliser supply

We are proud to be the New Zealand distributor of Atherton sterilisers, washer-disinfectors, sanitisers and warming cabinets. Atherton equipment is used in hospitals throughout New Zealand, and more hospitals are turning to Atherton when they want long-lasting, reliable sterilising equipment. We also supply the exciting new range of NIDSA decontamination solutions, which include a range of pre-clean units and washer-disinfectors.

Steriliser consumable supply and education

We are the national distributor of GKE steriliser consumables. These products have a solid reputation, and are the world’s leader in sterilisation monitoring.

Along with our partners Atherton and GKE, we are at the forefront of global developments in sterilisation technology. Our technicians have extensive international and trade experience. We are specialists in qualiﬁed technicians who service all types of sterilisers, washer-disinfectors, sanitisers and drying cabinets.

We are versed in the standards for operating sterilising equipment, and ensure any changes to healthcare standards are incorporated into everything we do.

Although standards are being constantly revised, we remain up to date with current standards including AS/NZS4187, ISO 13485 and AS2495.
